Tyler Friedman

At some point, I feel like I am a pro Outdoors-Person, but when I read people like JOHN MUIR, WILLIAM DICKSON BOYCE, HENRY DAVID THOREAU, I think that, a long way ahead of me.

So exactly where am I as an outdoorsman?

I know "Twist a loop in the line on the tied-off side." so I am a pro outdoors person. Kidding!

Btw, I am a survivalist but how? I am pro at starting a fire, purifying water, finding food, sharpening my own knife, building a shelter at anywhere any moment, able to navigate with minimal tools or not modern equipment, I am very good a navigation.

and you know what?
What is the most important skill as an outdoorist or outdoorsman? Tie a knot! the day was really hectic when my grandpa taught me how to tie knots.

However, I am not a handyman but I know how to fix a zipper, an easy DIY job, you know. But it's a skill. You never know when it could help you. No skills never go in vain.

Riding a mountain bike was my first love, My elder brother once taught me how to adjust bicycle gears. But the mountain bike love pushed me to the hiking trails.

Some say real outdoorsman is hiker in the first place, then they are survivalists. But I think of myself as a survivalist first then I am a hiker. After all, I am an Outdoorsman.

My friend asks me, How good you are at fishing? Ya! good indeed. Fishing is a survival skill, You know I am a survivalist.

A long story short, in Outdoorgeeky.com along with my friends, I am sharing what I know, what I learned, and still learning.

I am a man with minimum media coverage, minimum attention, kind of introvert but never be able to stop myself from sharing my adventurous life.

Hope you guys enjoy OutdoorGeeky.com
